I want you to make great beer!

My mission is to supply high quality mash tuns to homebrewers at an economical price. To that end, I have designed a wide variety of systems for homebrewers of diverse needs. My mash tuns often cost less than half of what a comparable system costs at on-line stores or your local homebrew shop, but they perform at least as well and will provide many years of brewing enjoyment.

All-grain brewing gives homebrewers complete control over the brewing process and costs about half as much as using malt extracts. Crushed barley is mixed with hot water inside a mash tun. This allows enzymes to convert the starchy portion of grain into sugar. The sugars are then rinsed and drained from the grains during a process called sparging. It is this sugar-water solution (wort) that is boiled with hops and then fermented into beer.

I build mash tuns out of drink / picnic coolers because their insulation holds a steady mash temperature, giving reliable results. They are also economical and easy to care for. A collection manifold rests at the bottom of the cooler and is designed to evenly draw the wort from the mash, giving you a fantastic extraction yield. The manifold is built out of CPVC which is rated to 180F, well above mash temperatures.
